The Design Behind IRIS

Concept:  Build a small lightweight high efficiency desk lamp that affords the user new levels of interaction and ease of use.  

Iris uses an aperture mechanism on the end of the light source to the user can adjust not only the power but also the focus of the light so they can get exactly what they need, where they need it.  The base of the lamp is attached with a powerful magnet giving the lamp and seamless joint to the desk that it sits on.  The joints are all magnetic and the arms can be swapped for longer or shorter based on the customers needs.  The head features a high output white LED light with minimal power usage at only 8 watts.
